‘An
amazing role model for her seven daughters and

This year Tracey received the Bradford College Award at the regional Adult Learners Awards Ceremony in Sheffield.’
Little did Tracey think two years ago she would be picking up her second award of the year. As a single mother of 8 children all her time was taken up in the home with her children. If she ventured out into Bradford City Centre she was too nervous to go alone and always needed a friend to go with her whether it was shopping or to visit the Housing Office.
Then it all changed Tracey found out about the Let’s TWIST courses at the college and she nervously signed up (with a friend) and has never looked back. She was one of only two students who completed all aspects of a one year three day a week course. So by the end of her first year at College she had Certificates in Motor Vehicle Maintenance, Electrics, Plumbing, Woodwork, Bricklaying, IT and Employment Skills. By the end of the year her friend had dropped out and Tracey was now experiencing her new found freedom and confidence.
