Our Service To Careers Professionals

Let’s TWIST and the UK Resource Centre offers careers professionals and personal advisors the opportunity to:

• Get advice on how to promote opportunities in engineering, construction and technology to girls and women
• Get support with finding work experience placements for girls – we are aware that work experience placements offered to young people are stereotyped and that this has a negative and limiting impact on subsequent training and work choices
• Obtain links to support networks and role models for girls and women
• Link girls and women to Let’s TWIST and other SET activities
• Attend continued professional development training in how to overcome gender stereotyping in careers guidance and education

Our Service To Employers

The UK Resource Centre works directly with employers in industry to promote better employment practice and workplace culture, to embed equality and diversity. Our aim is to help employers attract more women into science, engineering and technology, to retain women by improving their workplace experience and to fix the ‘leaky pipeline’ at critical points when women often fail to progress or leave, never to return.

Let’s TWIST and UK Resource Centre offers employers opportunities to:

• work with them in order to create a more gender balanced workforce
• seek advice and guidance on how to promote opportunities for women in your sector
• have links to excellent women students who will be qualifying and looking for work
• to offer work experience placements to women free of charge
